These beautiful beaded bracelets are part of the Zero Hunger project in Guatemala. Rural communities, where poverty is severe, are paired with designers who design products based on the traditional crafts of the communities. The artisans are supported with training and technical experts. And the products are marketed and sold by exporters. They have been introduced in the US, Europe and Asia.

In just two – three years, communities have been revitalizing their craft production, income is being generated and malnutrition is beginning to decline. This integrated team approach, with reliable relationships all along the chain is creating a structure to promote sustainable incomes and health. And uses cultural heritage and skills to promote development.
